Disability in Palestine

Effective planning and policymaking across social, economic, and political spheres rely heavily on accurate research, statistical data, and meaningful insights.

For many years, a significant lack of comprehensive information about individuals with disabilities in the Palestinian Territories created a substantial knowledge gap. Until the late 1980s, this gap posed a considerable obstacle for decision makers and policy makers, preventing the implementation of essential actions to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities within broader Palestinian society.

The Laurice Khoury Foundation is committed to raising public awareness about the challenges faced by Palestinians with disabilities living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The following research highlights the progress and developments achieved thus far in advancing disability rights and inclusion in Palestine.
